C had her 12-month pediatric appointment today. Consequently I have gotten very little done today. This is one of those days where the parenting overshadows the pastoring. Oh well. Other days it’s the other way around.

It was a little traumatic for her. Now that she is a year we are in the age of urine samples at the doctor’s office. This is accomplished by attaching an adhesive bag to her privates and hoping she has a full bladder. Who knew? Luckily my little people-pleaser was only too happy to oblige, almost before the bag got attached, and then all over the table after it was removed. Aside from this and two more shots, she is very healthy and happy, and in the 90+% for everything.

We’ve had a lot of milestones with her lately–first birthday, walking, etc., but one of the most poignant has been turning her around to face front in her car seat! She is just a little person back there, peering out the window, watching mommy drive and the world go by.

Thanks for the update. She’s perfect in every way…not that she needs to be…

A urine sample? My kids have never had a urine sample in my over 6 years of parenting! Things change too quickly. I go almost 4 years without a new child and they change the rules on me!

I’m glad she is doing well. You are right - that is a WONDERFUL milestone when you can turn that car seat around.
