Well I finished the scarf today, and wrapped it in a piece of flip chart paper, taped together with mailing labels (which I looped and hid under the flaps of the wrapping–otherwise, unsightly), and tied with the last stray bit of the Eros yarn. All in all I was proud of that little bit of ingenuity–my ineptitude at all things wrapping has been well documented here.
The card was a piece of decorative paper I scrounged, and on it I wrote:
“Speaking the truth in love, we must grow into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and knit together…” -Eph 4:15-16
In thanksgiving for your ministry among us, and in hope for what God might continue to do in the church of Jesus Christ.
Signed,
Name,
Assoc. Pastor, Church, City, Name of Presbytery
P.S. I listened to your every word.
She loved it. We laughed. We have a friend in common in her presbytery. She’s wearing the scarf as we speak.

Way to go!
Good for you…and for her.

I love it!
What a great ending!
Kill ‘em with kindness. That’s the best way to respond. Often times the path less trodden, as well. Kudos to you!
…and now YOU’RE MIA. Did you get home safe and sound?
I am back. With a cold, and lots of laundry to do. But happy to be home and grateful to hubby for holding down the fort.
The hotel gift shop didn’t have much in the way of souvenirs, but the Big Bird doll did the trick for C.
Thanks for worrying about me!
