If you’re chomping at the bit for RevGalBlogPal merchandise–and let’s face it, how could you not be–well, the store is undergoing some changes. I raised the price of everything by $1 (except the thong got a hefty markup, for all you supermodels), with the thought that all profits will go to a women-oriented non-profit organization, to be decided soon. Songbird thought it was a nice idea and we hope the others concur. And I’m hoping that the $1 would not be prohibitive for anyone who just desperately wants to wear the RGBP name!, yet would also allow us to give back a little, since we’ve obviously gotten (way too much, perhaps) enjoyment out of this little enterprise. (Prices are not retroactive, for those of you who’ve already ordered. What you saw is what you paid.)

I’m also thinking we need some additional design suggestions to add some sparkle to the store. Any ideas? Keep in mind that the basic store (the free one) only allows one design per product–that is, we can’t have ten pink T-shirts, each with a separate design.

End of commercial. I’ll get back to, like, writing stuff soon. I’ve got lots of stuff kicking around in my head lately.

Because I’m such a dork, I have a really stoopid question: does the merch we already ordered stay the price at which we ordered it? Or do I have to go update my Quicken now?

I like the idea of giving some charitable contribution. I’ve been debating whether or not to order anything. As much fun as it sounds, it’s hard to justify ordering t-shirts and mugs when I just spent two days going through all of my stuff to get rid of such things. We’re in pare down mode here, so I’d love the option of participating in this hilarity by making a contribution rather than buying something. Is there a way to do that through the store, or should I just make it to the organization as soon as we decide on what it will be?

    stays the same

I think the contribution is a fine idea. And as soon as there’s a decision on the recipient, let me know; I’m happy to add back the couple of dollars I “saved” by ordering early.

    Me too.

Y’all, I have a friend who just returned after 4 years of mission work in S. Africa. Here’s a link to some info about the group she worked with. I wonder if this would be an appealing recipient? Money my church has raised has gone directly to the women, without being funneled through a lot of administration.

Thanks for doing all this reverendmother…i like the charity idea.

I’m all in favor of the charitable idea. Songbird’s idea sounds good. I’m sure we could all suggest wonderful recipients, but that would get too confusing to resolve.

I suggest that reverendmother, reverendmommy, Songbird and St. Cassarole (who created the merchandise and the webring) select 2 worthy organizations and post it on the revgalblogpals site for a vote of the members of the webring at the time of the vote.

OK, OK….so now I can order my t shirt and tell my family that it came free with a contribution to a charity!! I’ll have to crack, won’t I. I wonder how long it will take to reach me from the States…and how much the postage will be.

But it’ll be fun to own something pink…I’ve not had a pink t shirt since Darling Daughter snaffled my last one!
