Your daughters will be great friends. I have a sister. She is a great friend in a way my brother is not.

Many blessings to you all! Any name chosen yet? I’ve always like the name Thea (goddess). Enjoy these miracle-filled days!

    Name suggestions for she-who-is-in-utero:

    Rachel Elise

    Katerina Michelle

    Priscilla Diane

    Sarah Denise

    Annelise Sophia (”Sophie”)

each of these would then be followed by both parents’ last names.

(I’m totally into the 4 name thing now)

Talk about bounty and blessings! I, too, want to let you know that the hand-me-down thing is a gift to moms. Did it with four boys before I got my girl!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! A naming contest, what fun!!! I love what my friend Jody at work and his wife just named their firstborn (on the 4th of July no less). Kennedy Rene. I’m all about girl names that are kinda ambiguous. McKenna is another favorite. It’s hard to pick names when you’re a teacher. Someone has always gone and messed them up for you.

Do your kids get two last names or one? Notshychirev’s comment made me curious.

I use Firstname Mylastname R’slastname officially–no hyphen, just spaces. It makes for an incredibly long name–19 letters–and interestingly, five capital letters among only three names. Ponder that one for a while…

C has only the last lastname (i.e. not my ‘maiden’ name). Part of it is that mine is so darn long, but also that I have a huge family so I don’t feel it as important to “pass on” my name.

  27. 27 NotShyChiRev/ChicagoRev

And my posting was a suggestion that RM and R consider adding RM’s former last name as a second middle name, not a hyphen…

    Happy for you all!

    Congratulations! :)
