I recall family stories about my mother and her twin being such large babies that my grandmother could not stand up from a chair without assistance in the last stage of her pregnancy. So maybe Gertie's size has a genetic background in my mom's family. If so, that genetic package also includes longevity, with my grandma and her three sisters all living well into their 90's.

Gert will come out efficiently, even if she's a bit larger than C.

You mean my dream of sneezing the baby out may become a reality? O frabjous day!

Side note: R read that tempurpedics can be very warm. Just something to check out in the store.

Ah, yes, each one is different. Litigator weighed in at 7lbs 15 oz, StoneMason was 8 15, and StrongOpinions was 6 15. I haven't a clue how they all ended up with the 15 ounces, like I couldn't get them over the hump to the next pound, but they did. With all of them, I was big as a house (yes, I am only 5'2", but my weight gain and their size seemed unrelated). All I know was that having the littlest one last made her entry rather like - there's no delicate way to say it - a greased piglet out the chute. Gert will come out efficiently, even if she's a bit larger than C.

Vis-a-vis the mattress, I keep hoping we'll jettison the mattress on our bed, since it dates back to PH's first marriage, but it still is quite sturdy, so I guess I can't go out and buy the Tempurpedic quite yet (probably better for our bank account).

Here's hoping for good test results and continued good pregnancy...and more charming comments from C, who is clearly her mother's daughter.

Just as a piece of hope. My sister had GD and a little bitty baby. Which I guess won't work, since you know you have a big baby---but it sounded helpful when I wrote it.

Ah, the new bed...I'm happy to report that ours is nicely broken in, and works like a charm. I went from a paltry 3 hours of sleep a night to an amazing (for me) average of 6.5. Yippee!

And that rolling uphill to 'meet on the mountaintop' in the middle was a pain! I'm glad that is gone!

Best of luck! I like the idea of worrying with a purpose. Makes me feel a little less guilty, ha ha!

I'm a fan or worry, as long as I can separate it from blame. In other words, if I am worrying because I think I'm going to mess things up, then I'm probably just looking for some shame to dump on myself. But there is a good kind of worry that is so full of questions -- maybe worry is a kind of curiosity when it is well done?

Oh I like that! Perfectly perfect child to be. I could tell you all of the reason why you should not worry....but you will do it anyway. Gator was like 6 lbs and 4 oz....Be bo...10 lbs. ~grins~ And I promise they were both just right! My worry? I just KNEW I could not love #2 nearly as much as I did #1. Then, there he was and the love just bloomed.

I bought my first good mattress while expecting #2 Son. A Good Mattress is a Good Thing. Blessings on your new sleeping arrangements, for C, too.

Let us know how the tests come out.
