Well, as someone who is wrong about most things, I’m glad revbaby took pity on me and decided to emerge after the Christmas madness had subsided…And as for your longing for justice, something very very much like this DID happen for me when TeenWonder was born. sometimes when it’s time to sleep and i can’t settle down i realize that there’s someone i’m called to be praying for and that’s why i’m awake (even though i’m tired and sleepy), so i’m assuming that someone is you and rb. God, give traveling mercies to these wonderful women as they set out on their mother-daughter journey together. amen.

(now if i’m able to go to sleep, i’ll know it was you two that needed to be prayed for. if not, i’ll go down the list of everyone else ’til i get to sleep. sweet dreams.

Well, it’s either laugh or cry here at Baby Watch Headquarters. After a peaceful Christmas Eve and Day, we had some wonderfully intense contractions starting at 3:30 this morning, that persisted even after I got up (around 5:30). They grew stronger, longer and closer together–then screeched to a heartbreaking halt. No amount of walking, resting, sitting on birth ball, or homeopathics could coax them to resume.

For those keeping track, this all began 12 days ago.

If there’s any justice in the world, I have completed most of my active labor; my water will break, I’ll head to the hospital, and RB will arrive on the scene, what, 90 minutes later.
