I’m going to write a 10-minute update… here goes…
- End of An Era: I shipped ChaplainMom’s maternity clothes back to her the other day, along with all of mine–I couldn’t remember whose was whose so I sent the whole mess to her. Not that CM is in that place yet, but I am pretty sure I’m Over That.
- It feels strange to be over that.
- We’re zeroing in on a child-care person for the divine miss m. Dang, it’s expensive.
- Free to Be will continue to watch M on an as-needed basis, which I’m thinking will be occasional Fridays. It will be nice to have some writing time.
- M is standing unassisted for a few seconds at a time. Help me Rhonda! She also eats anything you put in front of her–here’s what she’s eating these days:
barley, oatmeal, yogurt
applesauce, peaches (fresh and canned), banana, plum
plain macaroni
zwieback, cheerios, wagon wheels, Rice Chex, Kix
broccoli, green beans, peas, carrots (once), squash
All thanks to the Happy Baby Food Grinder! - Little she-who-is will be going with MaDear to visit her cousins J&J over Labor Day. On a plane. Without us. I know everything will be fine, but with 9/11 anniversary looming my fretful mind is playing tricks on me. This morning we were having a perfectly mundane conversation about it and I thought All those people who died on those planes had mundane conversations just like this one. Anyway, I’ll be very glad when she lands safely here again.
Time’s up.

» I have been remiss in posting SBJ’s latest stats: 23 pounds and 27 inches at six months. Yes, I’ve got the big mama biceps.
» Aaaaaand little she-who-is lost another tooth this week!
» SBJ is four months old, 19 pounds 5 ounces, and 26 inches tall. GIGANTOR!

Great update…I’m going to send it now to your Gram. She needs to be in on these blogs, one way or another. I’ll just put it in an email to her. And if Katie reads this, please know I intended to tell you about C accompanying me…just have had a busy week. We’ll talk soon!
Can I just say that Miss M has a more varied diet than a certain Wondergirl I know…
Miss M has a more varied diet than me.
I put my 14 year old daughter on a plane by herself in June. We have flown all over the world and the US together, but it was different having her go alone.
I went home and for the next 24 hours I checked the internet news sites every 30-60 minutes to make sure no aviation disasters had occurred.
At least your daughter is young enough that no one will assume that she has contacted her mother to announce her safe arrival. My lovely teenager did not call or email me for THREE days.
Traveling Mercies…for those on the ground and those in the air.
Little she-who-is is coming to visit??!?!? I’m doing a happy dance!!! I can’t wait to see her! Hmmmm… Should I tell J&J or leave it a suprise? I’ll have to think about that one.
Leave it a surprise, KatieG. They’ll LOVE that.
I love that y’all are feeding your kids a good quantity of health food. Get ‘em young, that’s what I say.
Do you think M is ready for Indoor Smores yet?
I allowed DD to fly alone (unaccompanied passenger) to see her Godmother in Scotland when DD wasn’t quite 6. It involved 4 planes (all very short ones) Tku - Stockholm-Oslo-Stavagner-Aberdeen (in Scotland) … I didn’t worry at all until she was on her way. It worked out. Ofcourse that was pre 9/11 but still.
