It’s Thanksgiving morning and the house is full, with two more at the extended stay motel for reasons of crowding and allergies. R woke up this morning realizing that the turkey was brining in 2x strong solution so he’s taken it out and returned it to the fridge. Now the 20 lb. CostCo Megabird will have time to dry in the fridge so it’ll get nice and crisp in the oven.

If you’re a RevGal or a BlogPal, you know that this is Thanksgiving Delurking week through this Sunday. (Cow in honor of Mindy.) So if you find yourself lurking here on this Thanksgiving weekend, come on in and say hi. Stay for awhile and enjoy a thoroughly retro Thanksgiving at the reverendhouse, right down to the Wonder brown-and-serve rolls and the jellied cranberry sauce. We’re serving pumpkin, pecan and chocolate pies–here, have a small sliver of each.

I’m thankful for all of you.

Rhubarb pie is Thanksgiving for me. Don’t ask me why. I always have to bake it myself, and that’s OK, I like baking a pie.
