aside: sermon’s done
Published by reverendmother 1 year, 4 months agoSermon’s done. It’s short (very full service, with communion) and I’m preaching it first, then reading the scripture. (Horrors!) The sermon basically poses a question that I ask people to reflect on as they hear the passion story.

» I have been remiss in posting SBJ’s latest stats: 23 pounds and 27 inches at six months. Yes, I’ve got the big mama biceps.
» Aaaaaand little she-who-is lost another tooth this week!
» SBJ is four months old, 19 pounds 5 ounces, and 26 inches tall. GIGANTOR!

oh my oh my!!
I raised eyebrows by putting the anthem between the scripture reading and the sermon this week, allowing the choir’s “Ain’t No Rock Gonna Shout For Me” be part of the proclamation. I wonder if I could get away with what you’re doing….
(answer…not yet….)
I’m starting now. You are inspiring me to stop complaining (to myself and my cats) about wanting a Dr. Pepper (none in the house) and just write the thing, for goodness’ sake.
That’s what the HoS is doing here, too- he must have gotten the idea from you….
What’s the question for those of us who can’t make it to Virginia for your sermon?
It’s the “Elizabeth Edwards” question, i.e., what would you do if you knew you only had a short time left?
Which you know has been on my mind if you’ve been reading much around here.
I’d change the name of this Aside to “Sermon’s Done SUPERBLY”…you truly outdid yourself yesterday morning…that thing you did with the ‘reading’ was, well, can I just say, PERFECT? Home run, sweetie.
