Published by reverendmother 1 year, 4 months agoWe had an ultrasound today to screen for some stuff. In addition to everything looking normal and healthy, we’re pretty sure we saw… boy bits.

I have to say with all the ultrasounds and the tech pointing things out.. I could never tell they were boys. Congrats and best of health…

Already? Really? This is very exciting. Yes, the fuzzy whiteness is certainly open to interpretation, but boy bits would be–well, there–right?
Esperanza, yeah, it’s only 12 weeks, so the tech said not to buy any “boy stuff” yet, but on the other hand, the fetus *is* fully formed at this point, so…
Beth, I would think twins would be a real tangle of body parts!
R is much better at reading the screen than I am. I remember during M’s ultrasound, he saw that M was a girl even before the tech announced it. I was slower on the uptake. And that was at 20 weeks.
Even so, today I definitely saw what they both saw. It’s possible that we were looking at the labia, but they seemed a little too prominent for a 12 week old fetus. But who knows?
It was a very fun ultrasound. BB was giving us the upraised “power to the people” fist, put his hand up to his face, bucked around… yet was cooperative for the screening part.
YEAH! I love, Love, LOVE our boy!

for Robert’s wishes, I hope it is a boy. But as you said, you’re well equipped for girls!

we never could tell - and I was ok with that
A new nephew! Yay! Now we need to just find out if he’s going to have a boy or girl cousin. We shall find out soon.
One of ours wouldn’t let us see until the third trimester, I think it was.
Two older sisters… he’s going to have to learn judo.
