DEFINITELY a boy.
The internets called it!
My heart is hurting for a friend right now, but I had to pass on the good news.

» The latest on SBJ: at one year, he weighs 30.5 pounds (99%), is 32 inches tall (97%) and is 100% cute.
» I have been remiss in posting SBJ’s latest stats: 23 pounds and 27 inches at six months. Yes, I’ve got the big mama biceps.
» Aaaaaand little she-who-is lost another tooth this week!

and he’s beautiful…thanks for letting me watch the sonogram this morning…it was spiritual, to say the least!
Well, it would be fabulous news either way so….fabulous news!
Welcome, Bonus Baby Boy! (”B cubed”? How fitting for the third!) And how fortunate you will be to all have one another to love!
B3 - baby #3, bonus baby boy, any way you look at it - from your heart or on the monitor. Delighted that c3 (child #3) is growing well.
word!!!
Oh, I’m so happy that it’s a boy! I mean girls are nice, but it’s also nice for each kid to have a unique title: big girl, little girl, boy.
Yay!
Wonderful! Isn’t it nice to get to know him a little bit more? I’m thrilled for all of you.
Boys are awesome! Congrats for you all!
happy for you (but three girls would have been a blessing too!)
This is great news! Can’t wait to see R with a son. Your two daughters are going to be great older sisters to the new boy. Congrats!!!
Absolutely, Lorna.
I am such a Myers-Briggs J. Nothing has really changed since yesterday, but now that I know for certain, I am amazingly excited.
Unfortunately, C’s favorite name, Jason, which was really starting to grow on me, has been nixed by R, who had a bad experience with a Jason in childhood. I thought it would be very sweet to have one child name another. But looks like that won’t happen: C’s alternate name is Milber Silber.
No matter the name, get to work on this:

“General Mommy thinks it’s dangerous for anyone to leave the system until they’ve activated the diaper shield.”
Congrats to you all! So very exciting….
I dunno, Milber Silber has a nice assonance…

YAY….Excellent news (though a girl would have been equally delightful)….Having had no brothers, nor any dealings at all with boys as a child I did rather wonder if I’d be capable of mothering one…have to say that my 2 are hugely life-enhancing in every way…and the teens have been smoother with them than with their no less loved and lovely sister. Blessings on all 5 of you!
Awesome!
BB or B3…
The head is spinning with possible names…and while I have a lovely nephew named Jason, I’ve had more of R’s types of experiences with that name.
Yeah. There’s also that Jason dude with the hockey mask. Though if you do pick a name that starts with a J, he can have JD as a nickname: see Zack Braff’s character from “Scrubs.”
Excellent. I love that this unexpected baby brings a wonderful new dimension to the ReverendFamily.
BB: Billy Bob.
B3: Big Bad Bob
Boys are AWSOME!!! Congratulations on RB3(Rev Baby #3). When it came to names we looked in the family. Husbands naming convention for first borns in his family all have the initial JW, so we took my granda - Joseph and his dad’s middle name- Weldon. Maybe you can take your husbands names and use his initial to come up with baby bonus’ name. Although I do like the rhyme of Milber Silber. Baby Boy two, got lucky, we went with Aaron Michael - both family names but far back and mixed up between the two of us. Robert, James, William, Sean and a few others were automatically ruled out due to over usage. And then there were the funky Texas names that this sensible East Coaster just could not play with - I mean really Pleasant?? as a name??
Good luck and continued health!!
Beth
Whatever name you end up with, he will be a fascinating child, just like his two big sisters! Mazel tov on this next step along the path!
BTW, where did she come up with Milber Silber?
Delightful news!
Enjoy him!
Love that boy! What a delightfully different little family you are going to have than the one you expected. C and M are going to be terrific big sisters!
So glad to hear the news!
Not that you asked…or that you are even required to consider the following…
But….just because it’s common, don’t think that
(NSCR’s first name)(Mr. RM’s first name)(ReverendFamily)
wouldn’t be a lovely, sturdy name.
But I also sort of like–now go with me here…
(RM’s maiden name) (Mr. RM’s first name) (ReverendFamily)
Hear me out. Okay, so that’s not the most common first name in the world, but it has many available short or rhymed forms, some of which are macho, some of which are clever, only one of which is a humorous looking primate…not to mention all of the derivatives of his dad’s name that might be available should he choose to follow the path of W. Somerset Maugham.
Noone else would have the name, but it’s not like Zowie Bowie or Moon Unit Zappa. Speaking as one who turns his head far too many times at the mention of my first name when it is intended for another…food for thought.
Fantastic. Glad your daughters will have a brother. Brothers rock!
Yay for boys!! As an earlier commenter said, BOYS ARE AWESOME!!! (no bias there, BTW!)
Hugs to you and the whole reverend family.
also note that the score will still be 3 to 2 (Girls vs. Boys).
Oooh, I love the naming game!!! Although, NotShy, I think Mr. RM’s first name then RM’s maiden name flows together better.
My favorite is still William, though I know there are family claims on that name. It goes the best with C and M’s names, very classic and traditional, as is the RM family.
very classic and traditional,
and classy
I too love the name William and having a little boy. Congrats on things going along healthily.
is that a word?
I wonder how different it is from having girls.
I mean, besides the fact that boys can aim.
The girls will love having a little brother! Congratulations.
Congrats! Have fun with the continued planning. Enjoy the PG glow and excitement, but remember to take care of you too!
Without having seen him we love him! A boy! Yeah!
still rejoicing with you and thinking names
Oooh, congratulations! And prayers for the hurting heart…
How exciting! My mom forgot to mention you were expecting, so imagine my delight when I happened to see this. Congratulations on seeing a healthy, happily-baking baby boy. The girls will adore him
Have fun planning & naming!
Yeah, Keith, except the problem is that boys CAN’T aim, at least until they’re seven or so.
