A man in the church has been asking for prayers for friends, whose young adult son was in a coma after a terrible car accident.
Yesterday I received an update. According to the young man’s mother, a friend of the family who lived down the street was sitting by his bedside while the mom took a break. The man opened his eyes, looked right at the woman, and somehow communicated that he wanted to write. She asked him, “Do you know who I am?”
He wrote, “My neighbor.”
Thus saith the Lord.
Painting is The Good Samaritan by He Qi.

» I have been remiss in posting SBJ’s latest stats: 23 pounds and 27 inches at six months. Yes, I’ve got the big mama biceps.
» Aaaaaand little she-who-is lost another tooth this week!
» SBJ is four months old, 19 pounds 5 ounces, and 26 inches tall. GIGANTOR!

Great illustration, and my favorite artist. Bonus!
wow.
Cheese, did they use his stuff on a recent denominational planning calendar? Because it’s so familiar. I’m ready to buy one of his prints, though I can’t afford one in the least.
Love the story and the artist. I met He Qi at the Richmond General Assembly a few years back. I have a signed print but not an original. Wish I could afford an original! The PCUSA program calendar did use his work for the 2004-2005 planning calendar.
What Kelley said about the calendar. You can oder prints of the stuff they used on the calendar from the denominational website.
We were so,so,so close to buying an original painting when he was at SFTS, but I paid my tuition that semester instead. Kicking myself. But if you’re ever there, they have some of his paintings hanging “up the hill”.
Powerful story…and I’m a huge He Qi fan. We NEVER buy denominational bulletin covers except for special offerings…I made an exception for He Qi’s.
beautiful!
Beautiful ~ both the illustration and the art.
Amen … great illustration, and I LOVE He Qi’s art!
