Thank you Beth!

Car seats, stroller and bumbo are actually things we do currently have. But I appreciate the thought!

The main things lacking are something for him to sleep in while in our room--in a pinch we will use the pack and play with bassinet but that takes up so much room--and I also realized that we got rid of the Baby Bjorn. I still have my sling though.

Ah well... it will work out!

I have 2 car seats that I can give away with 4 bases. I have bumbo seats and a sanp and go double stroller that fits said car seats - all about a year old. The twins outgrew their stuff really fast - thankfully.

I will ship wherever its needed (p.o. box if you want), just let me know where. As Keith can attest to, homes in big city East coast area do not have a lot of space and would love to see this all go to good use.

a lot can happen in ten weeks :) you'll be ready when you need to be. what's that ordination phrase, "God qualifies the called"? Surely God also equips the parents-to-be!

I am the oldest, over-photographed child.
My sister and I look enough alike that my sister assumed that half of the pictures of the family photo album were of her (when they were of me.) Works for me.

I'm in big trouble. Because I'm just as unprepared, only this is baby #1. Baby book has been purchased, but not cracked open. I have no idea what's even in it. Hubby is (if possible) even less interested in preparations. I'm interested, I guess, just lazy. Some magically appearing stuff would sure be nice.

I would like a co-sleeper. We were never willing to shell out for one, though if I'd known we would use it for three children, it would have been worth it. At this point it's not worth the expense. If only a used one would magically appear; I don't have time to scan ebay or freecycle.

We do have a double stroller that did magically appear. Church Saint saw it on Freecycle and snagged it for us.

Regarding scrapbooking and putting things in albums, I like the person who said, "I don't scrapbook. I pile chronologically."

It seems like we're in an in-between time in terms of archiving. We still have a lot of actual photos, and looking at photos online is still clunky, suggesting the need for albums. But the vast majority of our photos are digital, and I think the technology will catch up soon to create a way for people to view and display photos more easily than viewing them on a laptop/desktop or creating one of those book things.

Thankfully R has our photos nicely organized in Picasa. But then what do you do with the paper stuff? We have brochures from our Scotland trip, train tickets and so on. Or will we even care to look at that stuff in 20 years?

But Ruth is right. There are the poems.

Ahh, to live life or to archive it. We ask ourselves that every time we officiate at a wedding, don't we? And here, at the milestone of a baby, the question comes up -- except it's not a question at all -- because you are a total live-r, rather than archive-r, methinks. One solution is to simply destroy the baby pictures of the first two! Actually, you will have tons of pictures -- digital is so easy -- they just won't be in somebody else's format or binding. Plus, your babies get poems. You're a great mom, and this BB should be called LBB for Lucky.

With a start like this, I bet this kid will be laid back and totally unflappable. Which is cool.

For the first six years of my life, I thought I was adopted. No baby book, no photos, none of the other stuff that my brother and sister had.

But, as a mom, I can't bring myself to do all the gathering, gluing, and cutting. I have files of digital photos, and I'm hoping that'll be enough proof for her.

You're a great mom.
