I actually like the saying "It isn't over until the Fat Lady Sings" because it draws me back to J.D. Salinger and the Glass family, some of my favorite writings.

Why does the picture on this post give me chills? I wonder what childhood memory is being triggered?

Hope you had a wonderful time visiting new nephew.

Blessings!

I haven't seen Pay It Forward. Should I or shouldn't I?

Thanks for the Friday Fives, and many blessings to you and the family.

It aint over till the dishes are dried. Hmmm....too domestic.
It aint over till the bills are paid? Hmmm...still domestic.
It aint over till the groupies head backstage? Um...on second thot, no.
It aint over till the dessert? Too fattening.
It aint over till you're six feet under? Too morbid.
It aint over till the last amen? That is it:

It aint over till the last AMEN.

Great game, RM.

As for the bonus, I'm not playing on my blog, but I thought of...

It's not over until the parking lot clique goes home? And calls their friends? And their friends call their friends? And for some reason something feels odd about church the next Sunday but one can't figure out why? And finaly someone comes into one's office to let one know what "everyone" is talking about? And one either calls a fellow clergy friend and moans or pours a drink or figures out a cleverly differentiated way to deal with the "discussion" or tenders a resignation?

Of course, then it's not really over... :)

Great questions and great play! I loved your description of the night before graduation in college--what a great way to relive memories and renew connections before the summer break!

I knew it wasn't a comedy line, but I so wanted Rachel and Ross to talk about their need for counseling if they were ever going to have a healthy relationship. I guess my desire for 'real' communication in a sitcome meant that I had in fact jumped the shark.

May your good thing never come to an end.

After coming out of the theater where Play It Forward was playing, I stepped into a bookstore and flipped through the novel it was based on. I don't recall now what my specific objections were (I had problems with the movie all the way through), but as I suspected, they were addressed in the book.

Hollywood messing up a novel. News flash.
