flash poem: hands at reverendmother

three is harder, they warn;
no longer one for each hand.

and yet with
global warming
planes as missiles
war on terror
nuclear madmen
the end of an empire

just how invincible do they think
five fingers
and a palm
really are?

sigh.

and even though hands aren’t the perfect protector, when our third child arrived and we had 2 kids below the age of 4, we did learn that a third hand would have been helpful at times.

No longer one for each hand, but I can think of no better way to combat the tyrrany of the world than the image of more and more hands linked together. You and the reverendfamily are just embarking on beginning a chain that will stretch even farther and wider in love.
