I am on maternity leave! Woo-hoo!

——————

But there is a smattering of stuff I agreed to close the loop on, unless the baby comes sooner than that. So I’m not really done. But I am no longer going in to work.

——————

We have lots of Thanksgiving goodness in our fridge, none of which was cooked by us. I’m sure R will come up with something to whip up tomorrow (cough*pecanpie*cough). What do people do on Thanksgiving if they don’t have to spend the day cooking?

——————

M slept through last night! Woo-hoo! And her nose has really cleared out. Things are looking up.

——————

We started packing for the hospital. This happens in stages. We’ve set stuff aside, though it hasn’t made it into suitcases yet. We’ve also made a list of things to buy (bland snacks for labor, batteries for the camera), and made another list of things that will have to be thrown into the bag at the last minute (cell phones and charger).

I am currently on the hunt for a nursing gown that
a) has sleeves AND
b) doesn’t make me look like Laura Ingalls Wilder.

Time to go pick up the girls! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Late addition: C Performs a Play

[While wearing the same homemade American Indian headdress that every preschooler wore today—brown construction paper band, stapled into a circle with bright feathers]:

Narration: The Indians got together to have Thanksgiving. But then the bad ones came and took all their food and said, “We’re going to have Halloween instead.” But they didn’t stop Thanksgiving! It still came! They found more food! The end. [bows]

Love, love, love the play script.

Have a quiet, beautiful day with no turkeys except the one on your plate.

When you don’t have to cook you put your feet up and read a good book.

    Have a great Thanksgiving!

Congratulations on the maternity leave. It was one of the best times of my life. I pray that you’ll have many sleepy days, with a healthy baby nestled on your chest, coming soon.

    Hope your Thanksgiving was fabulous!
