yeah, no one would be getting much of anything without amazon over here, either, even as we try to show some restraint, too.

i'm betting you're more articulate than most, even when your brain is a marshmallow.

I second your cheer for Amazon, particularly this year. We're getting close to Coming Home, and I know I will be similarly, and wonderfully, tied down. Blessings to the gift givers and the gift receivers at your house. Our wee one already has way too much stuff, a condition I had wanted to avoid. But I find I am not in control of that (not to mention a few other things). I hear your dilemma and it's interesting to read the comments on how others face it too.

What did we ever do before online shopping!?

We're having a relatively minimalist Christmas at our home this year, mostly because I just don't have the energy to bring all the decorations up from the basement. Maybe tomorrow.

But first, marshmallows. mmmmm...with hot chocolate.

For the past several years we have done the 3 nice presents per child for Christmas: "If it's good enough for Jesus, it is good enough for you"

This year it is still 3 gifts, but they are extravagant and I have struggled with that. And then I remembered that for the other 364 days of the year I teach and model conservation, having just what we need and not what we want, working hard to get the Special things, giving to charity even when it means passing on things for ourselves, etc etc etc

I hate Christmas, but this year I am enjoying the gift of being allowed to be extravagant with my children.
