I am on post #989. Wouldn’t it be cool if post #1000 turned out to be the announcement of BB’s arrival?
little she-who-is: G-mommy, my baby has leprosy! How can I make it stop? Her nose is about to fall off!
———————-
The girls are having a great time with G-mommy, or as the divine miss M calls her, Me-Mommy. They’ve spent the day playing hide-and-seek and hospital (see aforementioned) while R and I picked up the bassinet […]
The divine miss M has a sinus infection. Sorry, but this is GREAT news.
a) We have a diagnosis. She is not, in fact, demon-possessed at night.
b) The infection didn’t settle in her ears! Might we have outgrown the ear woes?
Actually, though she has slept really badly the last couple of nights, I feel better about […]
My first review for MotherTalk!
The Daring Book for Girls,
by Andrea J. Buchanan and Miriam Peskowitz
Several months ago I caught an interview with the author of The Dangerous Book for Boys on The Colbert Report. My reaction was mixed; on the one hand, I agree with his premise, that childhood these days is too managed, that […]
i’m typing one handed with a snotty m on my lap. reminds me of nursing and typing one-handed.
the staff gave me a lovely surprise shower this morning. bb has clothes!
gmommy to the rescue; she is visiting this weekend while mamala continues her marathon travels.
tonight the personnel ministry team signs off (fingers crossed) on my proposal […]
OK, I am delinquent in sending out little goodies to my 8,000th commenter(s). I pondered it a lot and never came up with any terribly creative ideas, so I will be acting on my uncreative idea in the next few days.
In the meantime, I am about to hit comment #9,000, so comment early, comment often, […]
More cute M vocab:
too-toos (tissues)
gih-gap (giraffe)
da-da (MaDear) (who she pretends to talk to on the telephone)
She loves pretending to talk on the phone. And serving “tea.” And putting her babies to bed. And singing old McDonald, and songs of her own devising.
And she knows all her colors…!
The upshot of M’s elbow is, we were walking […]
Congratulations to Judy Adler who was commenter #9,000! E-mail me your address and you’ll receive a little something in the mail.
I should not be giddy over the fact that youth and college students from our church are actually friending me on Facebook, but they are and I am. You mean I’m not a drippy adult?
Don’t you love it when you are dreading revising some unpolished piece of cr@p writing and it turns out to be […]
Just got back from the walk-in clinic. Good news is, no ear infection. Bad news is, no ear infection—considering the night we just had. I now believe in demon possession.
It’s not a very blissful time in the reverendhousehold.
Long story, but we found out that M is also prone to nursemaid’s elbow.
M is not sleeping well in the new room. There. I said it. There are various theories, but honestly, we don’t know why. The only thing that gets her to sleep is rocking. […]
1. What was the most memorable interview you ever had?
Definitely the one for my current call, when I was 8 1/2 months pregnant and the entire search committee drove 600 miles each way to interview me.
I remember them smiling and laughing as they poured out of the van that Saturday in January and feeling right […]
From the informed consent form the midwives’ office gave me to read and sign:
Specific risks associate with cesarean section performed during labor are scaring to mother…
