Quotable Quotes from C, Dessert Edition…
“Cake is cake.”
“Whenever you say banana pudding, it’s going to make me dream of banana pudding and how good it is.”

Speaking of Mental Processes…
Apparently, sometimes unpleasant stuff comes into C’s head unbidden. Usually it’s the stepmother in Cinderella. She’s working on how to train her brain to think of something else. We know when she’s working on this because she’ll be sitting there quietly and suddenly say “Stop! Stop!”

She is also big on pictures and signage around the house. The kid bedrooms are adorned with each kid’s name, which she wrote herself, cut out and taped onto each door. Our basement door is also covered with color-with-water pictures that she and M did.

M is really, really, really, really two.

Tonight she wanted to go to the swimming pool. She would not be deterred from this desire. The whining and shrieking made for a very surly dinner all around.

Then later, R was with SBJ in the basement, bouncing with him on the birth ball (large pilates ball). M saw what he was doing and came upstairs for her large bouncy ball which she carried downstairs to bounce along with him.

This is pretty much toddlerhood, isn’t it? Totally and completely infuriating one moment, charming beyond belief the next.

Mundane stats added after her two-year ped visit today:
she is:
…32.8 pounds (90-95%ile)
…36 inches (95%ile)
…surprisingly shy at this appointment
…within the range of normal for her speech (remember I was a teensy bit concerned about her hearing)

What can I say about SBJ. He’s 8 weeks. It’s a sweet age. The baby acne is almost gone, he’s sleeping well at night, and is even putting up with errands. And the smiles, the smiles…

Your children, my VA grandchildren, are so perfect in every way. C is the smartest 4 year old in the world, trying to order her universe at such an early age…M and her spirit and energy are second to none and SBJ, just a smile from him melts all of our hearts.

What can I say…I’m the luckiest MaDear in the whole wide world-kins McGee (private joke here).

J, the soon to be (oh, not so soon to be please!) young lady who has the sweetest voice and the most wonderful sense of direction (I kidded and said who needs a GPS when you have a JPS)…she got me to where I needed to be without Mapquest or Google Maps, during my weekend in Central Florida.

And then there’s J, imagination personified! and the sensitive side of him melts my heart.

Sweet P in Austin…well, what can I say? She’s cute beyond imagination!

    Again, I’m one lucky MaDear!

Oh my, I think I am in love with Mamala’s comment almost as much as this post.

And how wonderful that MaDear is close by!

I think you are very fortunate to have MaDear, too.

LS smiled for the first time on Valentine’s Day his first year. Adorable!

Thanks for the update on your family. Glad everyone is doing well and happy (except for bad Cinderella image!).
