Since this is the closest thing I have to a baby book right now—”I don’t scrapbook; I pile chronologically”—I will report the stats from sweet baby j’s ped visit yesterday. Last time I said that he was in the 25 and 50%ile for some things. Turns out they had graphed his numbers wrong. At 15#7oz and 24 1/4 inches yesterday, he is at the top of the percentiles.

We have big babies.

His temperament is hard to peg. He is very smiley and pleasant, and sometimes when you put him down he will just fall asleep on his own. He’s also getting more tolerant of errands, presumably because he needs less sleep and can see more of what’s going on.

On the other hand, he will go from 0 to 60 pretty quickly. I’m not sure if he’s got more of a hair trigger than the girls, or if he just doesn’t get responded to as quickly since there are more people around whose needs have to be dealt with.

Like yesterday. I had a lunch with some friends and we were running late. I waited to wake him as long as I could, but finally had to do it, then change his diaper and clothes, then feed him, but not let him nurse leisurely as he is wont to do, then drive to my friend’s house with the sun flashing in his face every few minutes. He was not exactly Mr. Sunshine when we got there, but who would be?

If I had to predict I’d say he will be more on the exuberant side, a la divine miss m, than the contemplative side like little she-who-is.

(The outfit was from CG Auntie.)

teh shoesies, teh shoes…..why don’t they make those in my size?

So I was wrong about Sweet P being taller than SBJ…looks like they are nearly the same in height, although he has her beat by about 3 pounds at 2 months…not that I’m going to continue the comparison the rest of their life, but it’s a good frame of reference for me, since I’m so far away from her.

I was studying the pictures of C that I have in my kitchen when she was about 10 months and I think he’s really going to look more like her than M so that is cool…M’s temperament with C’s looks.

    he’s so adorable!
I can’t believe he’s two months old already. I feel like we were just reading your “here he comes” posts a week ago. crazy! (I can’t imagine what it must feel like as your OWN children grow up…)

“L-O-N-G B-O-D-Y….bink your toes!” (tickling long body from head to toes) was a game we played with our 95%, long-bodied boy. J is beautiful! Thanks for the picture.

Well, of course he’s adorable in his little firetruck outfit (but I have to give Grandma Meredith credit for it.) The shoes are particularly darling!
