I got my niece an "indoor planetarium" (along the lines mentioned above): http://shop.nationalgeographic.com/product/759/3113/759.html

It's definitely not the real thing, but it gets around the light pollution issue.

Your nursing experience makes me laugh as I remember some of my own. It is not quite the beautiful woman in the flowing white robe sitting in the rocker with her calm newborn that some of the magizine articles show.

So nice to hear about normal life. Stars. Walks. Even skin issues. (Our TBC also had this malady on arms and legs and seems to be just dandy.)

Hope the month goes by s-l-o-w-l-y - in a good, savoring every moment way.

We have our telescope set up in the breakfast room and use it to look closely at the high branches of trees, the birds, and the progress of the house being rebuilt behind us. Then we also have it to take to a less lighted area for star gazing.

bob and i visited a "star party" sponsored by a northern virginia astronomy club several years ago. i'll always recall one sweet threesome (dad and 2 kids). the kids kept asking, "is it time yet?" "is it time yet?" finally dad said, "it's time."

all 3 lay down on a big comforter and dad told the myth of one of the constellations. he told us that each time they go to a star party he tells about a different constellation. repeating them in a rotation over time. then after the story---embellished w/ great detail, the kids climbed into a little tent and went to sleep and he enjoyed using his big telescope with his star-gazing buddies.

c's desire for a telescope also reminds me of the jody foster character in contact who learned her love of the skies from her dad.

RM...I have a telescope (on tripod) that we are giving away (we were given two in one year). You are welcome to have it for C (after I check to make sure it is functioning). It is a nice one. And not to worry if you don't want it.

Oh...and it is nice to hear tidbits from your sweet family.

You will get your mojo back one step at a time when the time is right. Not to worry. Enjoy the time remaining.
