R has a new job as of several weeks ago. He closed his consulting business in order to go work for a former client who made him an offer he couldn’t refuse—namely, more money, paid vacation, and the chance to have his evenings back. I told him awhile back that he ought to do something nice for himself to celebrate, and promptly forgot the comment.
Fast forward to today. It was all so innocent—R offered to stop by CostCo on the way home to pick up… simple things. Diapers. Wipes. Frozen burritos.
Guess which perpetually sold-out recreational item was there in abundance?
I am hearing some Japanese knock-off “Girl from Ipanema” muzak over my shoulder as we speak.
Here’s some good news, though, for you fans of Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal. Cinnamon Pecan Special K tastes very similar, with half the fat and 30% less sugar.
Yes, this is our life.

» I have been remiss in posting SBJ’s latest stats: 23 pounds and 27 inches at six months. Yes, I’ve got the big mama biceps.
» Aaaaaand little she-who-is lost another tooth this week!
» SBJ is four months old, 19 pounds 5 ounces, and 26 inches tall. GIGANTOR!

And yes, that is the cast of LOST in Mii format.
was wondering how you scored it…know you’re having fun! Can’t wait to see C, M and SBJ (in the future) do what they’ll do with it.
And speaking of Cinnamon Pecan Special K, I want to remember the look on the face of the middle-aged man that sat near C, M and I last weekend on the Metro when he heard C talking about her “cholesterol”…you could see he was impressed, hearing such a big word and concept coming from your biggest “wee one”
does it really taste similar? Because I LOVE the cinnamon toast crunch…but wouldn’t mind eating something that isn’t going to kill me in ten bowls.
“Tall and tan and young and lovely
The girl from Ipanema goes walking….”
BUH baBUHba BUH baBUHBUH ba
BUH baBUHba BUH baBUH baBUH baaaaaaaa….
I’ve got Guitar Hero III rattling in my brain!
But congrats on the new opportunity!
Yes…we are “Brawling” at our house too, thanks to Costco. It is fun!
Wii is awesome! My wife has hated video games since her brother discovered them years ago. She has taken up playing with our Wii from time to time. Certainly not addicted.
Have you Wii-Boxed yet? That can take a lot out of you! I only play that one when I am feeling really full of energy!
Enjoy it!
Careful with the Wii- my brother in law accidentally wacked his recently post-partum wife in the face during a heated baseball game. But even I think they are fun!
Teri, it doesn’t leave the cinna-sludge in the bowl, but I think they’re pretty substitutable.
Now Anya and I are the only ones who don’t have a Wii. We’re officially losers.
Like that LOST cast, btw.
Great news on the new job, the new game system, and of course - the cereal!
We have loved having a Wii! It’s the only time P and I will play video games together Tiger Woods golf is the only game I can kick his butt at, and L loves to sit on the floor and cheer us on. “Sit, ball, sit! Yea! Good job, Daddy! Nice drive!” Hope you are enjoying some “quality” family time together.
