» I have been remiss in posting SBJ’s latest stats: 23 pounds and 27 inches at six months. Yes, I’ve got the big mama biceps.
» Aaaaaand little she-who-is lost another tooth this week!
» SBJ is four months old, 19 pounds 5 ounces, and 26 inches tall. GIGANTOR!

Try sauteeing your Kale in olive oil then giving it a healthy dose of thyme (surprising, I know, but it is an amazing woodsy flavor) - to turn your sautee into a casserole, put all your greens in a buttered casserole and cover with a sprinkling of gruyere cheese and sourdough croutons. Yum, yum, yum! Let me know what you think!
Our CSA does not start til June 24th. I’m hungry now.
My experience in the past was that each week’s bag contained wonderful new surprises. Enjoy!
Our CSA had squash, eggplant, corn, dozen eggs, and green beans (and wax and some kind of purple green bean) All I can say is YUM YUM YUM!
R just brought me some “kale chips”–spray a pan with cooking spray, then place small pieces of kale on the pan, sprinkle with kosher salt, and bake until crispy.
They are gooood.
You are so right. Regardless of the season, there is almost always kale.
It goes very well in lentil and sausage soup. You can make a decent pesto with it too.
What was I eating before we joined our CSA? Answer: garbage!
Another kale recipe, from a food-writer friend from Italy: put it in the food processor with some garlic, salt, and olive oil, and whiz it just like pesto. Makes a great dip for crudites or chips.
We used to do the CSA thing, but with just the two of us it didn’t work too well. Now we’re devotees of the farmer’s market. To me, the taste of summertime is gazpacho made with fresh goodies from the farmer’s market!
This is my diet plan: gazpacho, mixed veggie soup, ratatouille. If I fill up on various and sundry veggies, there’s less room for Ben and Jerry’s…at least in theory…
I like Karsh Kale, but I wouldn’t want him fried in olive oil.
