Remember when I used to write here often? I miss it. I’m still writing, just not here as much. I’ll be back.
Ruth (link below) tagged me for a Presbyterian meme:
In 25 words, give or take:
1) What is your favorite faith-based hymn, song or chorus?
I love “Praise to the Lord, the Almighty,” especially with descant (”let the amen, sound! from the people again…”), because we used the Martin Shaw processional at our wedding, which uses that tune. Interestingly, Crusty ol’ Theological Seminary’s commencement always features that processional!
2) What was the context, content and/or topic of the last sermon that truly touched, convicted, inspired, challenged, comforted and/or otherwise moved you?
This wasn’t the last one, but here is a sermon I go back to again and again, preached by Professor/Mentor several years ago.
3) If you could have all Presbyterians read just one of your previous posts, what would it be and why?
If I’m feeling prophetic: this one
If I’m feeling irreverent: this one
4) What are three PC(USA) flavored blogs you read on a regular basis?
A Church for Starving Artists
Work in Progress
Tribal Church
5) If the PC(USA) were a movie, what would it be and why?
Honestly? One of the first movies that came to mind? Groundhog Day. I think too often we’re just repeating the same old strategies and battles. We are stuck. But like the Bill Murray character, we are learning. Slowly but surely. we are learning.

» I have been remiss in posting SBJ’s latest stats: 23 pounds and 27 inches at six months. Yes, I’ve got the big mama biceps.
» Aaaaaand little she-who-is lost another tooth this week!
» SBJ is four months old, 19 pounds 5 ounces, and 26 inches tall. GIGANTOR!

Nice to see you back, Rev. Mother. You’ve been missed.
I’m glad to hear the other writing is taking precedence over the blog. You’re a good writer.
Nice call on “Groundhog Day” - Well played. And yeah, i think we are learning slowly but surely. But . . . is it still to slowly? Bruce
Keith… thank you. From you that is high praise.
