M on her first day of preschool
Howdy.
Still here.
Last week was our first week with everyone in their places—J at daycare down the street three days a week, M joining him a couple of days and also attending preschool two mornings, and C’s first full week of kindergarten.
I have a spreadsheet to keep track of where everyone is (really). So far, so good.
J’s tooth finally came in. That’s #8. We take him to the doc this week. I can’t wait to see how much he weighs.
I canvassed for Obama and our Senate and Congressional candidates on Saturday afternoon. It’s not something I was exactly looking forward to. Yes, I’ve preached in front of 1,500 people which I know is some people’s idea of hell, but knocking on doors is mine. Go figure! Yet it can be a very effective tool, and I want to do everything I can. We talked to some folks, and (even better) registered a few people to vote! Woo-hoo!
Remember the idea I had about a new church development housed in the arts center? The center is having its grand opening this month. And, I applied to attend a discernment event for people considering NCD. I found out that I got accepted. So I’ll attend that in October.
And finally… I couldn’t resist:

be sure to save this one for his rehearsal dinner slide show many years from now.
Hee hee! In our house we call that the coin slot.
Hourglass teenager low-rise jeans= the occasional coin slot
I tell the WonderGirl “Wait! Don’t move while I get a nickel!” and she pulls her pants up.
Terrific news about the NCD event.
I’m with you on the canvassing. Hate it. Could never be a Mormon. Or Jehovah’s Witness. Or a Girl Scout.
Preschool’s already had an affect on M. Alternately this weekend, she would either say “when I was a grown-up, XXX happened” or “when I was little, XXX happened”…it was so cute!
the line in our house was “just say no to crack” and K2 would pull up her pants - she still does it!
I’m with you on the canvassing thing too… but I’ll be working the phones at our Obama office
SBJ better not grow up to be a lawyer. You could get totally sued for that one.
Our line is “crack Kills”…..then Miss Teen pulls up her pants….I heard another mother call out the same expression with the same result in carpool line last year.
Great news on the NCD conference. I’m happy for you. Sweet picture of M. Funny picture of SBJ.
