The Double-Daring Book for Girls

I wrote about the first Daring Book for Girls here, and was excited to get a copy of their follow-up. It is again chock-full of even more fun stuff to do with girls (or boys, for that matter), everything from being a private eye to turning your backyard into a farm. OK, maybe those are two of the more ambitious activities… but there are also articles about stargazing, dominoes, “what to do when you’re bored” and more.

This go-round, MotherTalk is having a “book shower” rather than series of reviews. We are asked to pick a topic in the book and challenge other readers to do the activity along with us (perhaps in the spirit of friendly competition).

Because some of the activities are still a little beyond my kids’ abilities, I’m going with something simple, which is “Paper You Can Walk Through.” Do you think you can walk through a sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 paper? Stay tuned… I’ll post a picture later.

The trick is to make sure the first and last cuts originate on the folded side of the paper… then snip each fold *except* the first and last ones. Makes a big circle:
